About Me

I began my life in cat rescue in 2018 after seeing a feral colony spiral out of control. The cats were inbreeding, and everywhere I looked, kittens were dying — it was heartbreaking, and I felt helpless. I reached out to every resource I could find, but they all had waiting lists a year long. Thankfully, my dog groomer at the time told me about Burlington Animal Services and their Mighty Mouser Program. I bought a few traps and got to work. BAS made the process incredibly easy.

As I started trapping those cats, I shared what I was doing online and quickly realized this is a very common issue in Alamance County. The response was overwhelming. So many people reached out! It broke my heart to see so many animals suffering. I began trapping for others who contacted me, and I never looked back. I had found my purpose, a way to make a difference doing something I love which is helping animals.

Starting in September 2024, I’ll be shifting my focus to fostering special needs (mostly) cats and dogs. I’ll still try to help "normal" pets when I can, but my priority will be animals who are often overlooked or euthanized simply because they have disabilities. These pets deserve a chance at a happy life, and I want to give it to them.
•

I also want to continue helping reduce the feral cat population. The situation is worse than most people realize — so many animals are suffering simply because of humans being irresponsible. I’m determined to "leave this place a little better than I found it".
